1960 Coca-Cola commercial - Commercial 2

Published 1960

A 1960 commercial for King-Size Coca-Cola from "A Sweater for Rick" which can be downloaded elsewhere on the Internet Archive. I'm not a fan of the female singer but overall this is a good commercial.

Run time 1 minutes 8 seconds

Subject: I like Anita Bryant too...but
Thanks to "Indianbear" I went ahead read online on Wikipedia about Anita's anti-gay uproar from the 70's. Even though I myslef didn't agree with what she had said and done, I do have to admire Anita Bryant who stood up and did what she felt in her heart was the right thing to do. That did take guts !!

Reading the Wikipedia post about Bryant, it really is a reminder of the pre-internet days when people were more trusting towards their fellow man. In other words Anita Bryant wouldn't survive in this day and age of the net by saying such things as "most child molestors are gay men", "...Bruce is a gay name" or "..only gays get AIDS" or whatever without backing it up with a link or a creditable source otherwise it would be VERY tough to get those to believe you...in other words you are "telling stories" and/or being accused of being an "god-damn internet bull-shi* liar" ( as Scott Fybush FOX 31 Rochester, NY would say ).

Even though they may have their followers this is why Pat Robertson, Westboro Baptist Church, Exodus International, Focus on the Family and Jerry Falwell in his later years were/are considered jokes as few take these people seriously because of their actions of saying stuff without backing it up. Thats the internet for ya...can't back up what you say..LIAR !!!

BUT back to Anita Bryant..she did have a good voice. Four stars !!

Well, I AM a fan of Anita Bryant. And, the truth that she had the guts to stand up for.
